Hi All,  I'm still here crafting away.  Here are photos of a few projects I've been working on over the past few weeks.

Long Sleeve Flower tee

I started with 2 tees, one was a super sheer shirt that I had to have (but never wore). The other was a long sleeve shirt in almost that identical color.

I cut flowers from the sheer tee... 21 larger flowers - these measured approx. 3.5" across (note they are not perfectly shaped).
Then cut 33 1 1/2" flowers.
Each flower cluster has 3 pieces. I positioned the small flowers so the petals alternated & then sewed them long the right side of the shirt along the neckline.

5 flower clusters were at the neck rib seam, the remaining 4 clusters were nestled in between the first row of flowers 1 row down. These ran over on to the left side of the shirt for a non-symmetrical look.
Instead of just tacking them, I stitched them with an “X”. So when I wear the shirt, this stitching holds the flower open a bit more for a fuller look.

The Larger flowers I positioned the same alternating fashion so no petals were fully overlapped. I grouped these flower clusters starting where I left off with the small flowers and extended the large petal clusters on to the left shoulder. I used the same “X” stitch here.
I just sewed all the flowers on & trimmed all the loose threads when I was done. I love the way this shirt turned out & have worn it once & received many compliments on it.

Another Flower Tee...

Start with 2 identical tees, cut flowers from one.
I cut 14 larger flowers - these measured 4" across (note they are not perfectly shaped).
Then cut 14 2 1/2" flowers
Each flower cluster has 2 larger flower pieces & 2 smaller pieces = 7 flowers total.
I positioned the flowers so the petals alternated & then sewed them in a cluster on the left side of the tee.
Instead of just tacking them, I stitched back & forth across the flower. So when I wear the shirt, this stitching holds the flower open a bit more. I also used silver metallic thread for a bit of subtle glitz.

I used an elastic piece a few inches shorter then the sleeve/shoulder measurement. I pull the elastic when sewing it to the inside of the shirt to create a bit of rusching.

I cut off the neck trim from the shirt I sewed the flowers too... made it kind of a boat shaped neckline. You can just leave it a raw edge, knit will not fray.

I added a few "stems" under the flowers, using just strips of left over fabric. I sewed down 3 & left 3 hang loose.

Big Flower Tee

Don't you just hate it when you just replenished your white tees for summer & you get a stain right on the front. UGH!!! So what to do??? I added a big flower on the front. For a full tutorial go here. She made this on a pillow with felt & I thought it turned out Gorgeous!

I had this very pale pink fabic on hand that I cut the circles from - you can create a template or use whatever you have to trace a circle.
I cut 30 large & about 40 small. I have 6-10 left over from each size. Cut your circles in half.

I then laid a paper plate in the center of the shirt to use as a guidline for the outer petals. You have to work quickly as little finger like grab them for their own.

Over lap the petals slightly so they lay nicely in a circle. Then stitch them down. Lay the second circle of petals is about 1/2" inside the first circle. As needed, you can pleat the flowers so they fit into the circle. As you continue to create more circles of petals, you can see that the stain will be covered.

I used the large petals for about 4 circles, then switched to the smaller circles. Once I got closer to the center, I trimmed down the smaller petals to that I could still form a circle. At the very center, I just cut a circle to cover what was exposed of the white tee. I knew that the weight of the upper petals would cause them to flop over once I would wear the shirt. So I stitched them down with a contrast thread... just like you would cut a pizza.

This is how I attached the center circle. I did have to tack down a random petal here & there to keep them from flopping down. For this I used thread that matched the petals, so you can't really see it.

Finished Shirt... No visible stain! I really like how this shirt turned out!

Bleeding Heart

I'm a runner up!

Recently I entered an embellished tee contest at work. I entered the white version of the four petal tee from the other day's post & one new creation.
Well, I was one of 3 runners up.

Yippee for me! I'll be showing off photos of this tee at a later post.

Four Petal tee

Gather up a Tee you want to embellish & some scrap knit fabric. I had a Yellow Tee, used tonally warm colors of knit for the flowers. (I used yellow, white, dark pink, light pink, orange, & peach tones) Since knit will not fray, no need to treat the edges like on the last project.

Each flower has 4 petals, I estimated that I would need 11 flowers, so I cut 50 circles from the different colored fabric. I cut a few extra so I had some to play with the different colors & to use for the covered buttons. The circles were about 2” and were not perfectly round.

Pick 4 circles of varying color. Fold them in half. Take 2 and place folded edges together.

Take the third “petal” and place it on top of one of the existing petals, & underneath of the other existing petal.

Take the fourth “petal” and place it on top of one of the existing petals, & underneath of the other existing petal. Think of it like folding in the top of a box. You should now see 4 different colored petals
Carefully transfer this to your shirt & sew on with a circle stitch. Again, don’t worry if you circle is not perfect. We will be “randomly” putting covered buttons in some flowers.

Keep doing this method on your Tee until you feel you have your left shoulder/neck covered to your desired effect.

This tee was a little long on me, so I cut a tiny slit in the inside hem & put elastic thru it to gather it up on the bottom a bit.
Peepers helping sew on the covered buttons. Here is where the button can cover up some of your imperfect circles. I used 3 on this shirt.
DONE! ready to wear. I've worn this top a few times & get a ton of compliments on it. The one thing I would do differently is add a few more flowers & make sure that the flower overlap a bit more. I like the fullness better when they are clustered together more.

I also make one out of different tonal white fabric & lace flowers. For a dressier look.
